HealthNewsNigeriaAnambra State Hospital Benefits from Peter Obi, Prof. Ozuah Benevolence

The former Governor of Anambra state and Labour Party 2023 Presidential candidate in Nigeria, Peter Obi calls on well-meaning Nigerians and donor agencies to continue to support the health and education sectors in pulling the Nigerian populace out of poverty.

Peter Obi stated this when he visited the Immaculate Heart Specialist Hospital in Nkpor, Anambra State where he presented a cheque in favor of the hospital for improving healthcare delivery to the people.

Presenting the cheque of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) and fifteen million naira (N15,000,000) from Professor Philip Ozuah and himself respectively, the Labour Party presidential candidate revealed he was driven by his commitment to the real development of Nigeria, using the most measurable standard yardstick, the Human Development Index, HDI.

“The $50,000 sum came from a kind-hearted dear friend and brother, Prof Philip Ozuah, whose commitment to a better society and humanity is immeasurable. The N15 million came from my humble self, as part of my commitment to that health facility,” Peter Obi said.

Commending the Proprietor and Management of the Specialist Hospital for their consistent improvement in healthcare delivery, Obi reveals, “I have remained a very close friend to the hospital, and I have, over the years, always supported them.

“I am therefore glad with how they have continued to grow and improve in their healthcare delivery to the people. I, therefore seize this ample opportunity to urge and encourage other well-meaning Nigerians and donor agencies to continue to support our health and education sectors and in pulling people out of poverty, as they play very critical roles in our developmental journey to a New Nigeria, which, I keep insisting, is possible” Peter Obi tweeted.
