The Dawakin Tofa LGA chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has suspended Abdullahi Ganduje, national chair of the party, over corruption allegations.
Halliru Gwanzo, legal adviser of the ward announced the suspension during a briefing with journalists in Kano on Monday.
“Members resolved to suspend his membership after a vote of no confidence passed on the acting National Chairman of the party due to his inability to clear his name from a wide range of allegations of corruption, particularly the widely celebrated dollar video,” Gwanzo said.
The APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government Chairman, Inusa Suleiman Dawanau, stated that those behind the suspension of the National Chairman were cut into anti-Party activities with their records of meetings with the opposition exposed.
Speaking to journalists, the Kano State Chairman of the Party Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, said they are already investigating the anti-Party activities of the culprits.
Recall that last week, the Kano high court had stated that Ganduje will be arraigned on April 17 on charges bordering on bribery, diversion, and misappropriation of public funds.
In a court summon, it was stated that the former governor of Kano will be arraigned alongside his wife and son.
