A midnight inferno has consumed part of Yola’s main market, administrative headquarters of Yola South local government area of Adamawa state with properties worth millions of naira destroyed, though no casualty was recorded.
It was gathered that as at the time of the incident, there was no electricity from the public power supply.

The report has that some traders who lost millions of naira cash being proceeds of Sunday’s sale in the fire disaster have fainted.
Meanwhile, the Adamawa State government through the Deputy Governor of the state Kaletapwa Farauta has visited the affected shops and commiserates with the victims.
Farauta urged them to consider the disaster as an act of God and prayed that such calamity would not occur again and reiterates government commitment towards cushioning the effect of the disaster as no amount would replace their losses.
Umar Abubakar, leader of the traders who took the deputy governor around the disaster scene, thanked the State government for its prompt response and appealed for emergency assistance to the victims.
