Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has celebrated the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri on the occasion of his 65th birthday, describing him as a peace-loving leader.
The former President noted that Diri, since assuming office, has demonstrated the capacity and the will to pursue people-oriented policies and work in the interest of the citizens of the state.
Jonathan, who stated this in a goodwill message he personally signed on Monday, also prayed for God to grant the governor the grace and wisdom for a successful tenure.
He said: “I’m pleased to join your family, friends and other Bayelsans to celebrate with you as you mark your 65th birthday. Your Excellency, you have been a peace-loving leader with great passion for the development and growth of the state.
“I urge you to continue in the path of accountable and dedicated service to Bayelsa and Nigeria, even as I pray for wisdom and success for you and your team as you steer the ship of governance in Bayelsa State.
“Happy birthday Your Excellency, I wish you long life, and more enviable heights in your service to nationhood,” Jonathan stated.
