NewsNigeriaCommission Empowers 150 IDPs In Kano

As a measure to ease their economic burdens, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has empowered 150 resettled Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Ganduje resettlement city at Dawaki Tofa and those at the Kano city to become self-reliance and independent.

The Field Coordinator and Kano Field Officer of the commission, Hajiya Lubah Liman, while speaking during the empowerment programme held at Dan-Itace village, of Ganduje town in Dawakin Tofa Local Government area of Kano state, said the empowerment initiative is as the result of the continued commitment and unwavering dedication of the Federal Government of Nigeria to ensure that those at the IDPs are not left out because they are also Nigerians.

“We are here today at Ganduje Resettlement Centre in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State, to officially present 30 pumping machines, 70 sprayers,, 60 chemical containers (Pesticides and Herbicides), Shoes, and some writing material, to 150 beneficiaries as way of encouraging them to be self-reliant to improve their livelihood.

“This empowerment intervention and distribution of items, is a sign of hope, inclusion, and of a collective effort to rebuild lives, restore dignity, and promote lasting resilience in communities,” Liman said.

She explained that the commission under the NCFRMI Federal Commissioner, Tijjani Aliyu Ahmed, has continued to drive impactful programs like this across the nation to ease IDPs stress as well as to encourage them to pick up life a fresh.

The Field Coordinator urged all the beneficiaries to make the best use of these items, not only for their personal growth, but to inspire and uplift others around them.

Malama Hadiza Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, said the gesture by the commission will go a long way in shaping the lives of the IDPs. He expressed gratitude to the commission for what is termed as a time saving gesture extended to the IDPs.
