NewsNigeriaPoliticsNWC Dissolves APC Enugu State Exco, Constitutes Caretaker Committee

The National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the 179th meeting, approved the immediate dissolution of the APC Enugu State Executive Committee.

A press release on Thursday, signed by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, states that the resolution to dissolve the Enugu State Executive Committee was made following a comprehensive review of the state of the party in Enugu State.

The meeting presided over by the APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda also constituted a seven (7) member caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of the party in Enugu.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman is Dr. Ben Nwoye, while Rt. Hon. Eugene Odoh is the Secretary; Odoh was Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly under the People’s Democratic Party.

Other members include Mrs. Fidelia Njeze, Comrade Peter Chime, Dr. Mrs. Oby Ajih, Dr. Chiedozie Nwafor, and Engr. Emma Ekeh.

The 7-member caretaker committee will be inaugurated on Friday, the 10th of October, 2025.

Meanwhile, the party also announced that its constitution amendment committee will commence public hearings within this month.

The turn of events in APC Enugu ousted Barr. Ugo Agballah, who was Chairman of the Party in the state, was barely 2 days after Uche Nnaji’s resignation over alleged certificate forgery.

Until his resignation, Nnaji was the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology
