Crime & SecurityNewsNigeriaDSS dismisses 115 officers over misconduct, corruption

As part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at sanitising the Service and upholding professional standards, the Department of State Services, DSS, has dismissed a total of 115 personnel over alleged misconduct and corruption.
The Service, in a statement issued on Tuesday, explained that the dismissals occurred over a period of time and formed part of broader efforts to sanitize the system.
The DSS also cautioned the public to be wary of some dismissed officers who continue to present themselves as active personnel.
The Service also advised Nigerians to avoid any form of official dealings with the affected individuals, stressing that their identities have been published on the agency’s official website.
The statement reads in part, “in addition to earlier disclaimers on the duo of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, the Service finds it necessary to warn citizens of the fraudulent activities of some of these persons still posing as DSS personnel”.
