Bauçhi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has reiterated his stand to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), despite ongoing internal leadership criss within the party.
Governor Mohammed, speaking to Journalists in Bauchi, reaffirmed his political position, dismissed speculation about a possible defection, and called for mature, issue-based politics ahead of the 2026 general elections.
He expressed confidence in resolving the issues through dialogue and strategic engagement, describing the issues within the party as “not insurmountable. “We are where we are. Politics is dynamic, but we must be strategic”.
Mohammed, called on political actors in the state to avoid bitterness and divisive tendencies, urging them to embrace peaceful coexistence and healthy competition.
“This is a state with a rich democratic history. We must not engage in politics of hostility. Power comes from God, and the people will always decide,” he said.
The Governor, who dismissed rumours linking him to other political parties, emphasized that political leadership must be guided by vision and integrity rather than desperation for power, noting that the Bauchi people are politically aware and cannot be misled.
The governor highlighted his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that the political space in Bauchi remains open to all, including opposition actors, without intimidation or suppression.
The Governor pledged his administration would continue to support emerging leaders in realizing their ambitions and urged young Men and Women to actively participate in the political process.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and supportive of security agencies, noting that stability is critical to political and economic development, reaffirmed his commitment to leading Bauchi with transparency and responsibility and not to betray the trust of the people.
Governor Mohammed commended religious leaders, scholars, and Imams for their dedication throughout Ramadan for their critical role in promoting moral values, unity, and peaceful coexistence, urged them to sustain their efforts in guiding society towards righteousness and harmony.
He called on residents to continue fostering tolerance, mutual respect and collective responsibility in building a cohesive society, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic and religious groups.
