The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reconstituted its National Working Committee (NWC) at its 2026 national convention in Abuja, reaffirming Nentawe Yilwatda as national chairman and Ajibola Basiru as national secretary.
The convention, held at Eagle Square, was attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, governors, lawmakers and party stakeholders.
Delegates adopted a consensus list for the party’s leadership, a move party leaders say was designed to sustain unity and avoid internal disputes.
In a key development, Benjamin Nwoye emerged as deputy national chairman (south), replacing Emma Eneukwu, while Ali Bukar Dalori retained the position of deputy national chairman (north).
In his acceptance speech, Yilwatda described his re-election as a call to greater responsibility.
“We are ready to serve, ready to lead, and we are ready to build the party, together with the nation,” he said.
He assured party members that the new leadership would not “fail or falter” in delivering on its mandate.
