Nigeria’s Super Eagles returned to winning ways on Friday with a 2–1 victory over Iran national football team in an international friendly in Antalya, Turkey.
Goals from Moses Simon and Akor Adams secured the win in a match played at the home ground of Antalyaspor.
Nigeria started brightly and took the lead in the sixth minute when Simon cut in from the left and fired past Iran’s goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand.
Despite dominating large spells of the game and creating several chances, the Super Eagles failed to extend their lead in the first half.
The breakthrough eventually came in the second half when Adams doubled Nigeria’s advantage after connecting with a precise assist from Ademola Lookman.
Iran pulled one back later in the game, but Nigeria held on to secure the victory.
