The Executive Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, commends the lead Pastor, Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, for not being involved in money laundering, as his office had presumed.
Speaking at the Business Grant Award Ceremony, held by the Jerry Eze Foundation in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Wednesday, Olukoyede revealed that the Commission had investigated Pastor Jerry for 6 months on allegations of money laundering and found that he is not involved in any form of financial crime.
He further stated that the Commission places a premium on commending upright Nigerians for upholding anti-corruption values, even as they hold fraudulent individuals accountable for their criminal engagements.
“I want to let Nigerians know that EFCC is not just about investigating and prosecuting fraudsters, it is also appreciating and commending Nigerians who are not involved in any form of economic and financial crimes,” the EFCC boss said.
On the 240 small-scale business owners the Jerry Eze Foundation supported with grants of $3000 each, the anti-graft leader pointed out that such a gesture was a good way to make a statement about impact and nation-building.
The Business Grant Award Ceremony was convened by the Jerry Eze Foundation; Pastor Jerry Eze is not only the founder of the Foundation but also the lead Pastor of the Streams of Joy International and anchors the New Season Prophetic Prayers and declarations, NSPPD, a non-denominational online prayer platform.
In his speech, the humble cleric attributed his giving virtues to his late mum and his desire to impact lives.
“Everything I know about giving was taught to me by my mum. We lived in a yard, and when she cooked a pot of soup, everyone ate of it; the soup would finish, but it gave her joy. What is shocking about my mum is that it really didn’t matter if we had nothing left. She gives everything.”
“I am very passionate about what I do. What is life if people do not experience God through you?” Pastor Jerry Eze postulates.
A post made by one of the 240 beneficiaries of the grant states, “Help is not something I’ve ever been used to. I woke up to a message saying I had been selected. For me, this is not just a grant but God reminding me that He sees me, He listens, that help can come from where I never imagined, through people I have never met. This post is particularly to Jerry Eze Foundation and Pastor Jerry.”
“Thank you for believing in businesses like mine. Thank you for giving people like us hope, me and 239 other businesses in the face of the current market realities. This means more than I can ever imagine,” Chiamaka Egesimba, CEO, Foods and More Enterprises, Abuja.
The 240 beneficiaries of the Jerry Eze Foundation business grant were selected by KPMG professional services. KPMG screened the candidates for the 2026 Business Grant, and the total amount awarded is $720,000 USD (over 1 billion Naira). The beneficiaries received $ 3,000 each in business support.
