Four new cases of the Covid-19 virus have been recorded in Nigeria. Three cases were recorded in Lagos and 1 in Abuja. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed.
This implies that 28 cases of the virus have been confirmed in Lagos and 7 in Abuja.
These new cases were reported hours after Nigeria recorded it first death case from Corona Virus.
The agency on it twitter handle @NCDCgov said that two of the cases are returning travelers.
“Four new cases of #Covid-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. 3 in Lagos state and 1 in FCT
“Two of these cases are returning travelers
“As of at 11:00 pm on the 23rd of March, there are 40 cases of #Covid—19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with 1 death recorded,” the tweet said.
The latest cases of the virus bring the total number of confirmed cases to 40; Lagos 28, Abuja 7, Ogun 2, Oyo 1 and Ekiti 1.
The rise in the number of recorded cases might continue. Government has intensified contact tracing to identify those who might have come in contact with infected people
