New cases of COVID – 19 have been confirmed in Lagos, FCT, Oyo, Delta, and Kastina state.
The National Centre for Disease Control disclosed this.
With the recently recorded cases of COVID-19, Nigeria has 254 confirmed cases from 17 different states.
In a recent update published on Twitter, the NCDC declared the 16 new cases have been confirmed and 6 death cases have been recorded.
“sixteen new cases of #COVID – 19 have been reported in Nigeria: 10 in Lagos, 2 in FCT, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Delta and 1 in Kastina.
As of 09:30 pm 7th April, there are 254 confirmed cases of #Covid19 reported in Nigeria. Forty-four has been discharged with six deaths,” the agency said.
Having recorded its first case on Federal 28, the number of infected persons rapidly rose to 254 within a few weeks.
Since the beginning of April, new cases have been consistently recorded in different states across the country.
On April 1, NCDC announced that twenty-three new cases of the virus was recorded in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, FCT, Kaduna and Bauchi state. This brought the number of confirmed cases to 174.
On April 2, 10 new cases of Coronavirus were confirmed in Lagos and Abuja. A day after, 23 cases were recorded, bringing the total number of confirmed cases 210.
On April 5, NCDC disclosed that 18 new cases were recorded in the country via it Twitter page.
Six cases were recorded in Kwara, Edo, FCT and rivers state on April 6.
However, Nigeria has continued to grapple with curbing the spread of the disease as cases continue to increase.
Globally, as of Sunday morning, more than 200 countries across the world have recorded at least a case.
Also, the number of infected persons continues to increase daily. As of now, there are over one million confirmed cases, over 65,000 deaths and 253,000 recoveries.
