Three out of the returnees evacuated from the United Arab Emirates have tested positive to Coronavirus.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi revealed in a tweet.

“3 of the returnees recently evacuated from Dubai have tested positive for #COVID19 infection following #COVID19 test conducted on them,” he said.

Noting that, the infected persons have been taken to the care centre for treatment protocols, he urged citizens residing in the state to self-quarantine and strictly adhere to safety precautions.

” The affected have been admitted to @Followlag #COVID19 care centre for appropriate treatment protocols.

“@Followlag and @LSMOH will continue to adhere strictly to quarantine protocols and enforce necessary precautionary measures so as to contain the spread of #COVID19 infection.

“I urge Lagos residents and particularly those who just returned to the country to cooperate with our #COVID19 response team as may be desirable at all times and circumstances,” he added.

Infected persons were part of the 256 people who returned from Dubai from an evacuation flight.

In a course to contain the spread of the Virus, all such returnees have been subjected to a 14-day quarantine.

Lagos State affirmed to be in charge of looking out for their wellbeing.

Returnees from the United States and United Kingdom who had arrived in Lagos were moved to Abuja and are currently observing a paid-for quarantine.
