House of Representatives member, Alhaji Jafaru Mohammed, has donated two 500 KVA transformers worth N10 million to Bussa and Wawa communities in Borgu area of Niger to boost electricity supply of the communities.
The lawmaker represents Borgu/Agwara Federal Constituency of Niger in the National Assembly.
Mohammed’s Senior Legislative Aide, Alhaji Haliru Babangida, made the donation known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Borgu, Niger on Wednesday.
He said: “The donation became necessary considering the epileptic power supply facing the people of the area.”
Babangida said the people had been without electricity for three years; which compelled the federal lawmaker to make the donation.
Responding on behalf of the benefitting communities, Dr. Mahmud Aliyu, District Head of Wawa community, lauded the lawmaker for the kind gesture.
“God bless Jafaru Mohammed for identifying with us at a time like this,” he said.
