CoronavirusNigeriaRegionsCOVID-FG: Suspends Restrictions on Religious Gathering, Schools Remain Closed

The Federal Government has announced the suspension of the restriction placed on religious gathering as part of measures put in place to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 in the country.

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, announced on Monday during the media briefing of the Taskforce in Abuja.

Mustapha also said the ban on interstate travel is still in place, schools and bars activities are still under suspension.

He said, “There is a ban on gatherings of more than 20 people outside of a workplace.

“Relaxation of restriction on places of worship based on guidelines issued by the PTF and protocols agreed by state governments.

“Managed access to markets and locations of economic activity to limit the risk of transmission;

“Ban on inter-state travels except for the movement of agricultural produce, petroleum products, manufactured goods, and essential services;

“Mandatory use of non-medical face masks in public places;

“Mandatory provision of handwashing facilities/sanitizers in all public places.”
