AWKA —The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano on Thursday, June 4 made minor reshuffle in his cabinet. The reshuffle involving only four commissioners, have them switch Ministries.
The affected Commissioners are Hon. Afam Mbanefo, who was former Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, before then, he was Commissioner for Agriculture. Today, he has been redeployed to the Ministry of Transportation as the new Anambra state Commissioner for Transport.
Dr. Christian Madubuko the former Commissioner for Transport, who had also served as Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, was redeployed to the Ministry of Culture, Diaspora and Indigenous Artwork as the new Commissioner in that Ministry.
Meanwhile, Prof. Theresa Obiekezie the former Commissioner for Tertiary Education was redeployed to the Ministry of Youth Entrepreneurship as the new Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy.
Finally, Mrs. Sally Mbanefo, the former Commissioner for Culture, Diaspora and Indigenous Artworks, was moved to the Ministry of Solid Minerals and Tertiary Education.
Speaking to The West African Pilot News correspondent on the phone, Hon. Sally Mbanefo, the new Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Tertiary Education, spoke with excitement about her redeployment which she characterised as an opportunity for her. In her words; “the redeployment is a fantastic opportunity for me. You know, solid minerals need investors and it drives IGR. The government is focused on boosting Anambra IGR. Education is also a big deal and the governor prioritizes education as well. It’s wonderful. I like to try new things. I am excited”, Hon. Sally said.
For Hon. Afam Mbanefo the new Commissioner for Transport, “The job continues. I will put in my best. I will make sure I deliver on the promise of the administration of governor Obiano on transportation in Anambra state”.
However, Prof. Theresa Obiekezie the new Commissioner for Youth and Dr. Christian Madubuko the new Commissioner for Culture and Diaspora did not answer their calls nor respond to the messages sent to them, as at the time of filling this report.
