The problem in the APC National Working Committee (NWC) get out of hand on Tuesday when a Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja upheld the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.
Following that, an emergency meeting was held by 17 members of the NWC in the same evening, the NWC then appointed the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as the acting chairman.
However, a counter moves by Giadom with two members of the NWC, addressed a press conference on June 17, declaring himself as the acting chairman. He claimed his action was based on the judgement of the FCT High Court, which in March gave him the go-ahead to be the acting national chairman.
Despite his suspension by two courts in Port Harcourt and his replacement as the deputy national secretary, Giadom on Tuesday issued a notice of meeting of the APC Nation Executive Council, which is expected to hold today (Thursday).
However, the Ajimobi-led NWC said on Tuesday that Giadom was not qualified to convene the NEC Meeting, adding that he had been suspended from the NWC.
Also, the Ajimobi-led NWC raised alarm over an alleged plot by some unnamed persons to burn down the APC National Secretariat.
The alarm was raised by the National Vice-Chairman (South-South), Hilliard Eta, in Abuja on Wednesday. While speaking to journalists, he also alleged that his life was being threatened.
