The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Adamawa state chapter has organized an intercessory prayer in honor of the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria  Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza who is currently in isolation for contacting COVID-19.

Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza was last Sunday declared COVI-19 Positive and had gone on isolation.

The event was held at the CAN State secretariat in Jimeta where Christians in the state were charged to intensified prayers for God healings upon Bishop Dami Mamza and others affected by the virus.

Speaking on the occasion, the State Vice Chairman of  CAN, Reverend Philip Shehu said the pandemic has crippled economic activities in The world over, but God’s intervention has brought the situation to the present level.

“The whole world is suffering from the pandemic that cripples all sectors of the economy if not of God intervention it could have been worst than this.

“This intercessory prayer is for Bishop Dami Mamza and others affected by Covid-19 become necessary for the quick recovery of Bishop Mamza and other victims of the virus”. He added.

Reverend Shehu prayed that the virus will vanish on the surface of the earth.

He lauded the courageous of Bishop Mamza for declaring and availing himself publically that he is being tested positive, describing him as a true man of God, believed that he will come out healthy and strong.

Reverend Shehu appeals to people in the state to adhere strictly to NCDC protocols by washing their hands with running water, use hand sanitizers, and observe social/physical distance.

Declaring the prayer session open, the Anglican Communion, Arch Bishop Ibrahim Anfani who took reading from the holy book of James chapter 5 verse 13-17 appreciate Bishop Dami Mamza’s courage for pronouncing himself positive of the virus.

Arch Bishop Anfani commended CAN executive for initiating the prayer session.
