MUBI, Adamawa — A trailer load with waste products had killed two people, while ten others sustained various degrees of injuries when the articulated vehicle rammed into a Keke Napep in Mubi main Market of Mubi North local government area of Adamawa state.

Those injured are now receiving medical attention at the General Hospital Mubi, but one of the victims was referred to Federal Medical Centre Yola.

The Secretary, Mubi North local government council, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Audu popularly called Shala who confirmed the story said the Council Chairman Alhaji Suleiman Yahaya Sudi has ordered the council to offset all medical bills of the victims.

“The incident which occurred around 5 o’clock in the evening on Thursday followed a brake failure by the trailer loaded with waste materials heading to a destination for off-loading.

“All the victims were immediately rushed to the General Hospital here in Mubi for medical attention.

“The law banning the entry of articulated vehicles into the market will be rejuvenated so as to save the lives of people and protect their properties”. He added

Reacting, the Chairman Chamber of Commerce, Mines, Industry, and Agriculture, Mubi branch Alhaji Abdulkadir Musa described the incident as unfortunate and condoled with the families of the deceased persons and wished those hospitalized quick recoveries.
