One of Presidential aspirants of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim has enjoined Women Journalists in Nigeria to desist from peddling unfounded rumours and campaign of calumny, but work towards the unity and progress of the union.

Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim made the remark while addressing members of the Association (NAWOJIANS) at the NUJ Press Center Yola to woo votes ahead of the National delegate conference slated for next month in Minna Niger state.

 “As educated women we should stay away from people who bring mediocrity into the association rather work towards the victory of the union.

 “With my vast experience I will change the negative narrative against female journalists by bringing dignity in the association”. She added

The aspirant commended Adamawa NAWOJIANS for the warm reception accorded her, promised never to disappoint them if given the mandate to serve them.

In a remark, the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Donald Dedan reminded female Journalists of the need to maintain the existing unity amongst them for the overall development of the association even after the election.

Also speaking, the State Coordinator of NAWOJ, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar said NAWOJ members in Adamawa are united irrespective of their religious and tribal differences and wish the success at the polls.

The Director-General, Aisha Ibrahim Campaign Organization, Comrade Mohammed Saidu said the aspirant is the voiceless, pledged that the candidate will carry all NAWOJIANS in the scheme of things if given the mandate.

Saidu urged Adamawa NAWOJIANS to cast their votes for Aisha Ibrahim for progress of the union.
