Staff of the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Yola have been challenged to be more dedicated to their duties and reception to patients.

The Managing Director of the centre, Prof. Muhammad Awwal Abubakar threw the challenged during the 2019 staff award ceremony of the centre explained that the ceremony was initially to be held in match this year but was shifted as a result of Corona virus outbreak.

The best wards are Pediatric, Surgical, female medical and Pediatric medical.

“The Award was initiated four years ago, dedicated to retired female Nurse, Maryam Dantibiyam who was known for cleanliness and dedication to duty and to encourage staff of the center to ensure cleanliness in various wards, effective use of equipment and to be receptive to patients and their relatives”. He said.

In his remark, the Chairman organizing committee of the award, Dr. Sajo Njidda said the committee went round the wards in the centers and assessed cleanliness, maintenance and relationship between Nurses and Patients.

He noted staff in the various wards have shown commitment in that regard and identify three wards as the best.

The Officer in-charge of Pediatric Surgical Ward of the center which emerged overall best, Binta Tarfa expressed happiness and attributed the recognition of the award to collective dedication and commitment of the staff.

In his remark, the Royal Father of the Day who is the District Head of Yola, Alhaji Muhammad Ahmed Musdafa congratulated the Awardees and charged them to do more.
