There are indications that certain amount of money would be allocated to local governments affected by Endsars crisis in Adamawa State for them to rebuild vandalized government structures in their respective areas.
Already, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state Alhaji Muhammad Umar has embarked on assessment of properties looted and vandalized in some Local Government Areas in the State by hoodlums.
Places so far visited include Local Government Secretariats, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Local Education Authority, Agricultural Stores and Primary Health Care Development Agency, among other areas ransacked by the hoodlums in Yola South, Mayo Belwa, Demsa and Numan Local Government areas.
Umar who frowned on the level of destruction of personal and government properties said, the visit would give the Ministry first hand Information on the situation which will be delibrated at the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) for further action.
“The destruction does not portend peaceful demonstration, but an act of criminality against democracy and humanity and will be treated as such.
“Government will ensure that culprits are brought to book to serve as deterrent to others and forestall future occurrence”. He said.
In their separate remarks, Chairmen of the Local Government Councils visited disclosed that the hoodlums have looted government and private properties worth millions of naira.
They however, said some of the vandalised property at warehouses have been returned while other items were kept at uncompleted buildings and roadsides.
The Chairmen Commended community leaders, Vigilante and Youth groups for their assistance in recovering the looted items.
