As the Commission of Inquiry Investigating communal clash that occurred recently in Tingno of Lamurde Local Government Area of Adamawa State comes to an end with closing testimonies from witnesses, it was alleged that four witnesses that appeared before the commission were fake.
Representative of Lamurde Muslim community comprises Hausa/Fulani youths in Tingno Barrister Abubakar Mohammed had filed  an application alleging that the last four witnesses presented by Chobo group who testified before the commission were not the actual persons invited by the commission.
In his response, the lead Counsel Christopher Crownwell did not object to the request.
The commission should investigate the matter and if it is proven that witnesses are not right persons, the commission can charge them in Magistrate court for misleading the body”. He said.
After various contributions by counsels representing various  groups, the chairperson  of  the commission  Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman Adamu adjourned sitting to Tuesday, 8th December 2020 to enable the Police and Counsel to Chobo group invite  the affected  witnesses for further investigation.
