Muslim youths in Nigeria have been charged to engage in skills to enable them to become self-reliant as enshrined in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him.

Ustaz Ahmad Muhammad, State Mosque Director of Jama’atul Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’ikamatis Sunna gave the charge in his lecture at the ongoing state annual seminar of First Aid Group of the Jama’atul Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’ikamatis Sunna holding at General Murtala Mohammed College Yola.

He stated that Islam is against laziness and those who always engage in begging, but encourage people to engage in meaningful ventures to feed themselves and their families.

“Parents should inculcate moral virtues in their children and assign them responsibilities as a way of preparing them to be good leaders of tomorrow.
“Conventional and social media should always propagate educational based issues that will bring peaceful coexistence in the society, the majority of social media followers are youths, who needs good orientation”. He said.

He also tasks the youths to seek knowledge to enable them to contribute to the development of society and be responsible members in their various communities.
Muhammad then reminded youths of the importance of respecting elders regardless of their relationship and desist from acts that can ruin their lives and cause injury to society.
