ANDIWA Mutual Community Health Association in collaboration with National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has sensitized communities in nine Local Government areas of Bauchi State on how to access affordable Healthcare.

Speaking during Stakeholders Sensitization meeting held in Azare town, of Bauchi state, Chairman of ANDIWA Community Health Association Dr Waziri Dogo Mohammed said the programme is aim at providing efficient and effective healthcare service at affordable rate to all the inhabitants at the designated hospitals in to include Katugum, Itas Gadau, Zaki, Giade, Misau, Dambam, Jama’are, Shira and Gamawa.

“Under the partnership beneficiaries who registered with only N3, 000 will access free medical services at the designated health centres including diagnosis, consultation, operations and all other treatments of ailment under National Health Insurance Scheme”. He said.

In his remark, NHIS Senior Manager, Alhaji Sani Garba Abba, called on the people to unite and establish cooperatives with a view to access affordable healthcare delivery services in both rural and urban areas.

“The NHIS introduced Community Health Insurance Scheme for the benefit of people in communities under groups or cooperatives who registered into the scheme, the head of family who register with only N3, 000 household and two members of his family would have access to free medical services amounting to N100, 000 and above every year. Beneficiaries will only pay 10 percent of the total sum of drugs”. He added.

On his part, Emir of Katugum Alhaji Umar Farouk said Katagum Emirate Council has enrolled thousands of its people into the NHIS to access affordable healthcare under the scheme.

Represented by Professor Dauda Bagari Shamaki, the monarch called on people to key into the scheme for the benefit of their wellbeing and development of the society.
