Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Butu, Chairman Muslim Council Yola North local government chapter has charged standing committees of the council for Rumde ward to ensure unity and peace among Muslims and Christians.

He gave the charge while inaugurating the members at Rumde primary and secondary School Jimeta, tasked them to discharge their duties with fair or favour.

The standing committees are those on Security, Marriage, Education, Publicity, and Drugs abuse among others.

“You should assist the needy, address community problems such as marriage, drug abuse among others”, Butu said.

On his part, the chairman of the Muslim council Rumde ward Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Abbo urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them, calling on the Rumde community to give them maximum support for the development of the area.

A highlight of the event was Qur’anic recitation and presentation of a certificate to the newly inaugurated committee members.
