AWKA — The Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor has tasked the various COVID 19 taskforce in the state to enforce strictly, COVID-19 preventive measures.
The State number one lawmaker called on taskforce in the various Communities, Churches, Schools, Markets, and other governmental and non-governmental institutions in the state to ensure full compliance of all the COVID 19 preventive measures in their assigned locations to avoid further spread of the dreaded pandemic.
Speaking to newsmen in his office in Awka, Honourable Okafor also extolled the Governor for giving priority to the health sector in the State especially by ensuring adequate facilities across the health care centres in the State.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano for his genuine commitment towards the improvement of the health conditions of the citizenry.
The Speaker who made particular reference to the effective manner the Governor has continued to handle the COVID 19 pandemic in the State in addition to the provision of free COVID 19 drugs, enjoined residents in Anambra to comply with the directives and protocols associated with the pandemic, especially in its second wave.
He commended the State Ministry of Health for being on top of their job by conducting tests on the masses as well as administering COVID 19 drugs on those with positive test results.
