Gov Fintiri, ADHA Speaker, Adamawa Police Command Mourns Veteran Journalist Late Ibrahim Abdul’azeez, NUJ Adamawa State Council Declares Three Days Mourning
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sent his heartfelt condolences to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa State Council over the demise of Ibrahim Abdul’azeez.
The veteran Journalist died on Friday 5th February,2021 in a Car crash along Gombe-Bauchi road
The Governor in a statement by his Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou expressed his personal condolences and that of the Government and the entire people of Adamawa State to NUJ, the family of the deceased and his close associates.
“The death of Abdul’azeez is coming at a time when the Media industry can benefit more from his wealth of experience.
“I’m deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Ibrahim Abdul’azeez at a time his contributions are needed to engender development in the State.
“It is sad and devastating the loss of the great journalist, though very painful, but one has to take heart and appreciate Almighty Allah for the life well spent”, the statement said
Fintiri therefore urged the family to draw courage and strength from Allah at this trying moment, and prayed to Allah to grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdausi.
In the same vein, the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Iya Abbas has commiserated with the NUJ family in Adamawa state over the death of Ibrahim Abdul’azeez.
In a condolence letter, the Speaker described the death of the veteran journalist as a great loss to the pen profession and the state at large.
“The deceased has left a footprint in his chosen career through various programmes, production and publication which added value to humanity”, the statement said.
Abbas then prayed for repose of the soul of the deceased and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Similarly, The Adamawa State Police Command has sent heartfelt condolences to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Chapter over the demise of Ibrahim Abdul’azeez.
A statement signed by DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer Adamawa state said the command will lose its contributions and support in its fight against crime.
“The command, Condoles Adamawa N U J, Family of the deceased and the entire people of Adamawa State.
“The *CP* noted that *Abdul’azeez** death is coming at a time when the Media Industry can benefit more from his wealth of experience.
“The CP therefore prayed for the gentle soul of the departed to rest in peace and to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa State council has declared 3-day mourning for Late Ibrahim Abdul’azeez
A statement signed by State Secretary of the council, Comrade Fidelis Jocthan directs all Chapels to suspend all union activities and hoist the flag at half -mast in honour of the late Veteran Journalist.
“Late Ibrahim Abdul’azeez would continue to be remembered because of his doggedness, fearless and investigative journalism as well as contribution to union activities.
“The late Veteran,who symbolizes humility through his daily smiles during his life times had inspired many young ones particularly in his Television programme on TV Gotel as well as publications on his personal Newsblog ‘ Adamawa Times’
“The NUJ urged the family, Colleagues and Government of Adamawa State to take solace in Almighty Allah”, the statement added.
