YOLA — The remains of Ibrahim Abdul’aziz, a veteran Journalist who died in a ghastly motor accident on Friday 5th, February 2020 along Gombe- Bauchi road was buried at the Muslims cemetery Yola town, Adamawa state Northeast Nigeria after funeral prayer was conducted at his family residence along with Abuja road Yola town.

The funeral prayer was attended by family members, colleagues in the pen profession, and media workers.

A cross-section of people who attended the funeral prayer commented on the personality of the late Ibrahim Abdul’aziz.

Mohammed El-Yakub, Managing Director Gotel Communications said “we lost a pillar, a colleague, a brother, we lost a gentleman who understands what it means by living together, we lost somebody who laid a foundation for brotherliness, who understand the dynamics of broadcasting not in Adamawa but in Nigeria as a whole.

“We will continue to miss this epitome of broadcasting, may his soul rest in peace, May Allah shower his blessings on his soul and the rest of the family accept our deepest condolences

He said the deceased will be remembered for his joviality, amicability, and understanding of the word Journalism.

Umar Sambo Abubakar General Manager Pulaaku F.M Radio Yola described the death of Ibrahim Abdul’aziz as irreparable that will remain indelible in the hearts of people of Adamawa and Nigeria as a whole

“This is a saddest day for Journalists in Adamawa and Nigeria…we lost a great colleague and a brother, we miss this gentleman, he had sacrificed a lot in the field of Journalism may Allah subahanu wata’ala forgive his sins and reward him with Aljanatul Firdaushi”, he said

Ishiaka Donald Dedan, Chairman NUJ Adamawa state Council said the demise of Ibrahim Abdul’aziz has created a vacuum in the Journalism profession in the country.

“We lost an elder brother, we have lost a colleague, in fact, it is a very big vacuum, and we pray Almighty God to raise another person that will fill the vacuum.

“It is indeed a very big loss, we have accepted with total submission to the will of the Almighty, we lost Abdul’aziz, we have lost a veteran, we have lost a brain, we have lost a lot of contributions positively not only to the growth and development of Journalism, even at the state council we have lost an adviser.

He called on Journalists to learn from the lifestyle of the deceased by being humble, hardworking, dedicated, commitment and all-rounder.

“Journalists should learn about his simplicity, we are not talking because Abdul’aziz is no more, but believe me any person that comes across Abdul’aziz he will know that this is a person that you cannot say this is his enemy, even though we are human beings we may not know, but Abdul’aziz is a jovial person, he jokes with everybody and doesn’t want to be where there is a controversy he will not stay there”, he added

Daji Sani, Chairman NUJ Correspondent chapel, Adamawa state described the deceased as a peaceful man; a team player that wants to see success noted that “he had tried his best in the field of Journalism, sometimes he goes to the hinterland to get human angle stories so as to bring those people into the limelight.

“Journalists should learn that hard work pays, you can see the number of people that turn up for his burial, because he had served many people and help many as well”, he said.
