Lack of classrooms, offices, examination hall, science laboratories, toilets, fence, borehole, inadequate teachers and security personnel hampers conducive learning environment in Government Girls Secondary School, GGSS Shelleng.
Madam Margret Dakato, Principal of the School disclosed this while receiving cash assistance from a member representing Shelleng Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly Alhaji Abubakar Isa.
While thanking the legislator for the gesture, Dakato urged the member to facilitate timely emergency intervention by authorities concerned.
Presenting the cash assistance for the provision of furniture, Alhaji Abubakar Isa said it is a fulfillment of a pledge he made during an on-the-spot visit to the school after receiving a request letter from the school management that effect.
The legislator called on relevant stakeholders in the Education Sector to urgently provide needed facilities to the school.
“The problems of the school presented will be forwarded to relevant stakeholders for urgent steps to address the infrastructural decay in the school; the condition in the institution is pathetic.
“The school which was established in 2011has only two classroom blocks, one completed one for the senior section and the other uncompleted is for the junior section with no fence and no furniture.
“The present administration is committed to providing qualitative education to the people, and I have confidence that it would arrest the infrastructural decay in public schools”, he said.
