The Adamawa state government has confirmed receipt of 59,000 doses of the AztraZeneca coronavirus vaccine from the federal government through the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 Tuesday night.

Mallam Bashir Ahmad, Secretary to the state government (SSG) while briefing newsmen in his office Wednesday evening said the vaccines have been stored at the storage facility of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency.

“The state has concluded plans to kick-off the vaccination on Monday 15 March 2021; it will begin with a health worker followed by the governor.

“The state government has created a portal for residents who are interested in taking the vaccine to register before being vaccinated”, Bashir said.

Bashir assured that the state government will ensure equitable distribution of the vaccine across the state.
