Adamawa State House of Assembly has constituted a 7 man ad-hoc committee to carry out an investigation on the alleged illegal sales of land belonging to about 30 communities in Girei local government area by the council chairman Mr. Judah Amisa.
The committee has three weeks within which to furnish the house with a report of its investigation.
Recall that representatives of some communities in the local government area staged a peaceful protest last week over what they termed as indiscriminate sales of farmlands by council chairman Juda Amisa.
The house decision followed the presentation of a petition submitted to the state Assembly by the petitioners through the chairman house standing committee on public petition Mr. Adwawa Donglok of Guyuk Constituency.
The Speaker of the House Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas who presided over the plenary while announcing the constitution of the ad-hoc committee said the chairman of house standing committee on Rules Business, Ethics and Privileges, Hammantukur Yettisuri is to chair the Committee.
While the chairmen house committees on Environment, Public Petition, Agriculture are to serve as members.
Meanwhile, the House has Adjourned SINE-DIE following an industrial action embarked by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN Adamawa State House.
