Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has ordered the construction of 500 houses at Nguro Soye, Bama. Local Government Area to resettle persons earlier displaced by the insurgency.
The governor gave the directives during a visit to Bama town on Tuesday while at the palace of the Shehu of Bama, Shehu Umar Ibn Kyari Ibrahim El-kenemi.
Zulum added that 1,000 private homes in the town which were destroyed by insurgents would be rehabilitated and pledged to increase access to public education for all school-age children.
The governor also granted the Shehu of Bama’s request for increased agricultural support to farmers ahead of the rainy season.
