Between April and May 2021 over 1000 high-profile criminal suspects have been arrested by the police force with 10,120 rounds of ammunition recovered by the police force.
Usman Baba, acting inspector general of police indicated this while highlighting the achievements of the force at a media briefing on Thursday.
Baba replaced Mohammed Adamu as the IG of police on April 6 by the appointment of President Mohammed Buhari.
The police chief also noted that 398 persons were arrested for armed robbery, 258 for cult-related offenses, 222 for murder, 202 for banditry, and 86 for kidnapping within the period under review.
Also, 152 abducted persons were rescued with 413 firearms recovered.
He added that the list of suspects included those allegedly involved in the attack on the convoy of Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue state.
