AWKA — The Public Affairs Section- PAS of the United States Consulate in Nigeria, in collaboration with Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and Anambra State Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy have concluded plans for the “Awka Window on America”.
This window is one of the eighteen American Spaces in Nigeria, among a total of six hundred around the world, primarily established for the purposes of interaction and engagement between America and nations or other specified communities around the globe. These windows serve as training centers, libraries, and resource centers.
For the “Awka American Window”, the programme will feature diverse training, orientation session on EducationUSA, application training on Young African Leaders Initiative – YALI. Participants in this programme are expected to be inclusive of university students, graduates, postgraduate students, youth corps members in the state, and leaders of youth organizations across Anambra state.
The event is scheduled to hold on June 21st, 2021 from 3.30pm at the Academic Staff Union of Universities –ASUU, Secretariat, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, the Anambra State capital.

Both registration and participation are free. According to a message from Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Prof. Nkechi Obiekezie, “the selection process is based on first-come, first-serve, and selected participants will be notified ahead of time”.
