American trained Odera Ozoka is one of the three young people who picked the All Progressive Grand Alliance- APGA form, to contest Anambra State Governorship election coming up in November 2021. He was however “not cleared” according to the result of the APGA Screening Committee, published a few days ago.

Just like other aspirants who were also not cleared, Nnewi-born Chief Odera Ozoka has taken the next step provided by the party, and formally appealed his disqualification from participating in the APGA primary election process, scheduled for later this month.

In his detailed and well-rounded reaction to the development, he thanked his supporters as well as expressed confidence that APGA is bigger than anybody’s ambition; therefore he is optimistic that the party will do the right thing to resolve all differences.

Read his full statement below:

May I first thank everyone who has been part of this for their words of encouragement, since my disqualification from the election process? I have always said no one man, or his ambition is bigger than our party, and I still stand by that.

On June 14th, 2021, I learned that I was “not cleared” for the APGA Gubernatorial race on certain points made by the Screening Committee.

I have written an APPEAL (within the 24hrs window given) to address the points brought up by the committee, and have presented all the documents to prove my case. Therefore I am hopeful that all will be made right in the coming days.

While awaiting the response from the Chairman of the Appeal Committee and its members, I urge all my supporters– especially the youths, to stay calm and hopeful.

I want to thank the Chairman of the Screening Committee and its members, and also the Chairman of the Appeal Committee and its members for all their efforts thus far, while I also expect that they insist on doing the right thing in the interest of our party.

May I also congratulate all the gubernatorial aspirants who picked Expression of Interest and Nomination forms in a time like this in our country? You all are patriots.
I must equally celebrate the aspirants who thus far, have been cleared. Again, I wish to restate my unequivocal support for whoever emerges as our party’s candidate after our primaries, following a fair process.

Finally, I thank all my supporters in Nigeria and in the Diaspora for all their support for my aspiration. I especially thank the youths for their zeal, support and well wishes. We shall fix this country!

God bless you all.
