YOLA — Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has congratulated the Laka Cultural Association for a successful election process that saw the emergence of Shuaibu Usman Leman as national president.
The Association had converged in Bauchi and elected a 17-member national executive to run the affairs of the association.
A statement by Humwashi Wonosikou, Press Secretary to the governor said, while congratulating the new national president, Shuaibu Leman and his team, governor Fintiri described Leman’s election as a clear demonstration of the trust and confidence the people have in his ability to lead them to greater heights.
The statement read in part “LCA and I enjoy longstanding cordial relations and a strong cooperation in many areas. I look forward to continuing working closely with you and the entire community in consolidating these mutually beneficial areas of cooperation for the greater good of our dear State and Nigeria.”
“Serving in a community office is a demanding undertaking underwritten by high public expectations. Many new burdens will be placed on your shoulders, the public expectations on you will be very high, and obstacles will be thrown along your path, let your actions and decisions be guided solely on transparency, values and the overriding interest of all.”
“Know that you hold a special position in your Association, therefore, my advice to you is to serve with dedication and with utmost fidelity to the oath you have subscribed,” Fintiri said.
The governor therefore challenged the new executive to serve the people with unfailing integrity and commitment, noted that as national secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and an astute unionist, “I am convinced that the new leader is equally well-positioned to not only consolidate on the gains of his predecessor, but the LCA under his leadership would witness phenomenal socio-cultural regeneration and economic prosperity.”
