NewsSuspected Herdsmen Murder Large Scale Farmer In Taraba

Suspected herdsmen have murdered a large-scale farmer in Barjanga village of Gassol local government area of Taraba state on his farm in the area.

Recall Late Barjanga was abducted last year on the same farm and later regained freedom upon payment of over N7 million as ransom.
The murder of Saminu Barjanga came few days after a daughter and son of senior brother to Taraba Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu were abducted a week ago, but regained their freedom after ransom was paid.

It was gathered that the incident has heightened fear among farmers in the area.

Sources close to his family said that Barjanga left his shop early morning on that fateful day to inspect the farm, adding that those that took his life have trailed him from Mutum Biyu to the farm.
According to sources, people at the farm settlement near the victim’s farm heard a loud voice calling for help inside the farm, and while approaching the farm three people suspected to be herdsmen rode away on a motorcycle from the farm on noticing people coming to rescue the victim.

The murderers have not removed anything on the body of the victim while his motorcycle was also left on the farm, with large sums of money tucked in his pockets.

Taraba State Command is yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filling the story.
