ENUGU — Barely four months after three INEC offices in Enugu state were burnt down, the Awgu LGA INEC office was invaded and burnt on Sunday morning by an unidentified arsonist.
Although the Fire Service Station in Ozalla, Nkanu West LGA intervened, the building housing the Stores department was election materials are kept was gutted by the fire.
No casualty was reported according to the Commission’s Public Relations Officer and investigations are ongoing to unravel the motive behind the attack;
The attack is coming in the wake of a video circulating on social media showing armed hoodlums threatening that there would be no election in Biafra land in 2023 after dispersing a political gathering in a yet-to-be-identified community.
