OWERRI — Yet to be identified gunmen on Tuesday have killed two traditional rulers and left three others in a critical condition following an attack at Nnenasaae council headquarters of Njaba Local Government Area of Imo state.
Traditional rulers killed are Ihebinowere community, Eze Sampson Osunwa and that of Okwudor, Eze Anayo Durueburuo.
About 20 traditional rulers from the area were said to be having a stakeholders meeting when gunmen struck the venue and opened fire at the royal fathers.
CSP Mike Abattam, Police Public Relations Officer Imo State Police Command who confirmed the incident said other monarchs who sustained injuries during the attack were receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.
No arrest has been made so far in connection with the attack as the inhabitants of the area have been thrown into panic since the unfortunate incident occurred.
