ADO-EKITI — The fixtures for the 28 teams participating in the playoffs of the 2022 Bet9ja, Ekiti Football League (BEFL22), have been drawn, ahead of the first round of games.
The Secretary of Ekiti Football Association, (FA), Mr. Pelumi Abiara, who made this known in a statement, on Friday, in Ado-Ekiti, stated that the draws took place, virtually on Friday, ahead of the kick-off of the BEFL22 on Monday, Feb. 21.
The annual football competition, organised by the Ekiti FA, and sponsored by Bet9ja, had a standing rule that all matches on the draws are played at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.
The statement reads in part, “Gateway Football Academy of Ikere- Ekiti, will take on Ilupeju Pillars Football Club of Ilupeju-Ekiti, in the opening encounter by 10.00 a.m.
“Royal FC Itaji-Ekiti versus Santos FC of Ikere-Ekiti, by 12 noon. Agbana Wonderful FA takes on Royal Football Academy, Ikere-Ekiti, by 2.00 p.m.
“EKSUTH All Star FC, Ado-Ekiti, versus Fountain FC, Ado-Ekiti, by 4.00p.m, among others,” the statement said.
Abiara said the first round of the play-off fixtures would be played between Feb. 21 and Feb. 24, and that the playoffs, serve as qualification into the main league, which would commence later in March.
