EntertainmentMusicFireboy Achieves A Milestone, Receives Plaque From Audiomack

LAGOS — Fireboy DML, born Adedamola Adefolahan has been presented with an achievement plaque from Audiomack after reaching a milestone of over 350 million streams on the music platform.
The singer and songwriter, signed to YBNL Nation/Empire, was recognized for releasing two outstanding albums that have performed exceptionally well.
The ‘Peru’ crooner made remarkable progress following the release of his breakthrough single ‘Jealous’ off the YBNL MaFia Family compilation album in 2018.
This was followed by his debut album ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps’ in 2019, which racked up 153 million streams on Audiomack. Also, his sophomore album ‘Apollo’ which features hits like ‘Champion’ and ‘Tattoo’ has amassed 154 million plays on the streaming platform.
The rest of the streams were generated from singles that pivoted Fireboy’s ingress to receiving this award.
Jason Johnson, Vice President of Marketing & Brand Strategy for Audiomack, while presenting the plaque to Fireboy at the Audiomack headquarters in New York City, said:
“In less than four years, Fireboy has made a mark in both the local and global music industry and we are very excited to commemorate the incredible feat of over 350 million streams on Audiomack.
“At Audiomack, we believe in acknowledging and awarding talents for the milestone they have achieved in streaming, and our goal is to highlight the hard work artistes are putting into their careers digitally and the contributions of supporting stakeholders, including management teams, fans, and industry players like Audiomack.”
In some pictures which surfaced online, Fireboy was seen beaming with smiles as he acquired his plaque from the popular streaming platform.
In another development, the singer is set to release an American version of his chart-topping single, ‘Peru’ which will feature 21 Savage and Blxst.
Recall that Fireboy shared a UK collaboration with Ed Sheeran. The track was already a huge success in Nigeria, but Ed Sheeran’s input on the remix pushed the song to its debut on Billboard Top 100 at number 79. His collaboration with 21 Savage and Blxst will further put the song in a good place internationally.
