ABUJA — Some Nigerians residing in Abuja, have staged an anti-invasion protest in front of the Russian Embassy in Abuja on Monday against Vladimir Putin, asking him to let peace reign.
This is coming after the Russian troops invaded Ukraine last week, which since then, has been escalating.
Carrying different placards, the protesters in their numbers chanted songs saying “Putin, let there be peace”, “We are parents of Nigerians trapped in Ukraine.”
They also wore T-shirts with the emblem: “Stop the war.”
West African Pilot News gathered that the protesters include parents, friends, and loved ones of Nigerians who’re stranded in Ukraine and those who were abandoned while attempting to flee Ukraine for safety.
Decrying the horrific reports they have been receiving about their loved ones and/or wards being prevented from fleeing Ukraine to other countries such as Hungary, Poland, and others, they called for peace between Russia and Ukraine.
