AWKA — A 27 years old girl by the name of Ozioma Orakwe, has been arrested by Anambra State Police Command in connection with the death of Martin Orakwe 75 years, from Amatutu village in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State. Both the suspect and the deceased are related.
Although the deceased Martin Orakwe, was said to have committed suicide, however, a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer -PPRO of Anambra Police Command, CSP Tochi Ikenga affirmed that “preliminary investigation reveals that the victim had a cut on his head with marks of violence all over his body.”
CSP Ikenga equally revealed that further information availed to the Police showed that “before the death of the victim, he had a disagreement with the suspect which resulted in a fight.”
The Anambra state PPRO further noted that the body of the deceased has been recovered, and arrested the suspect who shall be charged to court upon completion of the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Echeng Echeng, has admonished that citizens should always seek legitimate means of settling disputes or differences, instead of resorting to fighting and violence.
