Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, has boasted that the iconic singing duo, PSquare, made up of himself and his twin brother, Paul, would sell out O2 Arena in London during their concert.
Following Davido’s successful sold-out musical concert where he reportedly ‘shut down’ the O2 arena, Mr. P has hinted at the possibility of PSquare hosting a concert at the Arena, claiming that they would ‘close down’ the 20,000-capacity arena, with or without new songs.
The singer revealed via his Twitter page on Tuesday that despite not having released a new song, the legendary status of PSquare will earn it an astounding turnout.
“We don’t need to shut down O2, we are only coming to close it down! With or without new songs! Legend is legend,” Mr. P wrote.
Earlier on Monday, he had shared a clip from P-Square’s comeback Christmas concert tagging it a rehearsal, as he asked his fans to decide which stadium they’d use for the upcoming London concert but noted that they’d prefer the former.
“Team PSQUARE, should we O2 or Wembley this sh*t?… Comment below…O2 is calling The Kings of Stage. #Rehearsals #AboutToDisturbLondon #PsquareWorldTourLoading,” he tweeted.
On Instagram, Mr. P also bragged that they don’t perform concerts, but rather hold crusades.
He wrote, “London and the world. Are you ready for the Kings of Stage? Psquare world tour loading. Don’t joke with the Kings of Stage. We don’t do concerts, we do crusades. With or without new songs!”
Nigerians have taken to social media to express their doubt that the twin brothers can actually shut down London’s O2 Arena. According to the naysayers, the brothers are no match for Wizkid and Davido.
Recall that Peter and Paul Okoye, his twin brother, had parted ways in 2017 but reunited in 2021 as they clocked 40.
