ABUJA — Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami says the investment in youth Digital skills is yielding massive results with 5 Million Nigerians to be trained in designing ICT-based innovations in coming years.
The minister stated this in a message to a youth ICT-based competition tagged “Digital for All Challenge” organised by Tech 4 Dev; a nonprofit ICT advocacy organisation.
Represented by his Technical Adviser on ICT Development, Mr Femi Adeluyi said the ICT Digital skills training was the second pillar of the present administration in attaining a Digital Nigeria therefore millions of Nigerians are expected to receive online digital skills through its website digital nigeria.gov.ng.
“At least 5million Nigerians are to be trained in various areas with many expected to design indigenous innovative start-up ideas,” he said.
In a remark, the Director, Tech 4 Dev; organisers of the event, Mr. Joel Ogunsola said through the challenge, over 17,000 youth have successfully been upskilled.
The competition featured a quiz on critical aspects of digital-based technology.
