The list of nominees for the eighth Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) has been announced.
The show hosts, Adesua Etomi-Wellington and Daniel Etim Effiong announced the nominees for the prestigious awards via a live stream on Saturday night.
Izu Ojukwu’s historical drama, Amina was the highest nominated film, with 12 nominations in major categories, followed by Ramsey Nouah’s ‘Rattlesnake: “The Ahanna Story’ with 10 nominations, then Funke Akindele, JJC Skillz’ Omo Ghetto: The Saga with nine nominations.
For this year’s award, the organizers introduced a new category ‘Best social media content creator’, which had the likes of Mr Macaroni, Sabinus, Teekuro among the nominees.
The AMVCA opening night is scheduled to hold on May 7 and will run until May 14, when the award night will take place.
