YBNL artist, Adedamola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy DML, has achieved another milestone with his smash tune Peru in the United Kingdom.
The Afro-fusion tune, which features British Grammy award-winning singer, Ed Sheeran has been hitting milestones and topping charts since its release, with the latest being Brit UK Gold certification.
The feat will be Fireboy’s second since the release of the Peru remix in December 2021.
Peru was first certified silver in January, barely a month after it was released. It was the fastest Afrobeats song to be certified silver in less than five weeks.
According to Brit, a record is certified Silver after it has sold over 200,000 units.
On Sunday, March 20, Fireboy received his Brit UK Gold Certificate plaque after amassing over 400,000 sales of the remix version of ‘Peru’ which features Grammy award-winning musician, Ed Sheeran in the United Kingdom.
The Afrofusion singer was confirmed to be certified gold in the UK by Brit on March 4, and he was officially awarded on Sunday, March 20, in the UK.
The Brit Certified Platinum, Gold, and Silver Awards recognize and celebrate the commercial success of music recordings and videos released in the UK.
