LAGOS — Nigerian singer, Davido and his ex-fiancee, Chioma Rowland have once again shattered the heart of their fans who want them together.

The ex-lovebirds who many thought were back together seem to have called it quits again as they unfollowed each other on Instagram.

When in 2018, Davido released his hit single, Assurance, a lot of people didn’t take time to figure out that the song was a dedication to his then-girlfriend, Chioma Rowland.

For a song that had strong lyrical lines like: “you’re the one I want oh before my liver start to fail, you’re the one I need oh before cassava start to hail. And if I ever leave oh, make water carry me dey go, far away, far away”, the verdict then was that truly, Davido was in love with Chioma, and nothing was going to ever come in between them.

Four years later, however, the love in Davido and Chioma’s relationship, seems to have fizzled out, and their fans who thought the love was going to lead them to the altar, are now wondering what is going on.

Since their break up in early January 2021, the celebrity couple started sparking reconciliation rumours after Chioma attended Davido’s concert at the London O2 Arena in early March, as he sent his private jet to pick up Chioma and their son, Ifeanyi ahead of the concert. They were also seen in several outings together, weeks after Davido’s show ended.

The singer also was recently seen with Chioma in a club, singing his hit song, Assurance while saying their love has been awakened.

This got some fans speculating and hoping that the two lovers would get married, at last.

However, it seems the couple has once again called it a quit.

A quick check on their respective Instagram page shows that the duo have unfollowed each other on the photo-sharing app, Instagram.

At this point, it is only pertinent to ask: what has become of the assurance Davido once promised Chioma?
